About the Event
One of the interpretations of Havdalah explains that with this ritual, we are bringing with us aspects of Shabbat into the week. Shabbat is our projection of the world to come. With Havdalah, we are reminded that the sacredness of Shabbat can be found throughout the week. We reconfirm the importance of continuing to build a better world throughout the week. As we reflect on the verdict in the trial of the murder of George Floyd (Z’’l), let's come together to be in community as we recommit ourselves to the sacred work of tikkun olam and racial justice. This will be a space for students and staff to hold the complexities of the moment together and look at our path forward in the fight for justice and belonging. You are welcome to bring your own Havdalah candles, spices, and wine or grape juice, but you are not required.
